Last night, I started the vehicle and a loud knocking sound in the passenger side dash started. Turned off the car and set the key to accessorie only and the knock continued. Played with the AC and no change noted The noise you are hearing is most likely the blend door actuator attempting to move to its default position but is not able to do so. This repair usually requires the blend door actuator to be replaced. This is often times a very costly repair as the dash sometimes needs to be removed from the vehicle in order to access the blend door actuator While it could be the result of a totally blocked cabin air filter, I agree with George that this noise is more likely to be coming from a broken actuator for one of the doors inside the HVAC system. the_same_mountainbike July 6, 2016, 4:11am #
